ONDA's Citizen Scientistists
Volunteer to join our special corps of high desert watch-dogs
Who are ONDA Citizen Scientists?
Citizen Scientists are people just like you: Families, individuals, professionals and retired folks who have an especial interest in a more detailed involvement in the monitoring, management and restoration of the ecosystems of Oregon's "Dry Side".
What does being a Citizen Scientist Invlove?
By taking on portions of ongoing projects, Citizen Scientists expand ONDA's collective influence and knowledge base while contributing to improved land-management. By adding your own, or your family's, name to our list of interested people, we can get to know you better: your interests and abilities. With this information in hand we can pair you up with existing projects and learn what new projects people would be interested in working on. By working on your own aspect of a project you are allowed much more freedom allowing you the opportunity to work within YOUR timeframe, rather than only during scheduled group trips.
Projects are diverse and varied, but almost all of them will require reliable folks who can follow a project's protocol and work with minimal or no supervision. Sign up with us (below) and fill out our questionnaire, and that way based on what skills you already posses, and are interested in learning, we can pair you up with the best suited projects. Besides the opportunity to make a large impact on helping improve and protect important ecosystems, a great benefit to you will be the opportunity to learn new skills.
