Wild Badlands Day - Sept 20th

Oregon Natural Desert Association’s WILD BADLANDS DAY!
September 20th - REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Description: What better way to experience and learn about the Badlands, just 15 miles east of Bend! Join ONDA, Oregon Equestrian Trails, High Desert Saddle Club, East Cascade Bird Conservancy, photographer Bob Woodward, Friends of the Badlands, the Footzone, and Pine Mountain Sports in a day of education and appreciation for this desert gem! The Badlands encompass fascinating lava flows, ancient junipers, high desert birds and animals, dry river canyons, and castle-like rock formations. The day provides a unique opportunity for exploration of our backyard desert, followed by drinks, eats, and bluegrass music by Bare Roots at Pine Mountain Sports from 3:00 to 6:00PM. A host of activities awaits you – take your pick!

Group Activities:
Footzone fun-run 8:00 – 11:00AM
Equestrian ride (BYOH, bring your own horse) 9:00AM – 2:00PM
ONDA geocache hunt/geology hike 9:00AM – 2:00PM
ECBC birding walk 9:00AM – 12:00PM
Photography workshop with Bob Woodward 9:00AM – 11:00AM
Friends of the Badlands (Fobbits) trail building 9:00AM – 2:00PM

Post party at Pine Mountain Sports with food, beer and music 3pm-6pm

Cost: FREE (suggested donation for beer and food at post-party)
