Is fence pulling hard work?
The challenging part of this work is...
The actual work of removing fence is not terribly strenuous. It involves using your hands, various hand tools, bending over, and carrying posts and wire short distances. The challenging part of this work is working and standing in the sun all day, often in hot temperatures, working at elevation, hiking up to 6 miles to camp with all of your gear, and hiking a up to 3 miles each day with a day pack on.
ONDA's trip leader understands that the work is arduous, and will take breaks accordingly. Because of the nature of the work and the environment, we ask that you are realistic about your abilities, fitness level, and endurance. This is a fun and rewarding experience if you are prepared.
