Ouzel Outfitters will be our guide down the John Day River to our work site on Pine Creek Conservation Area. One of the four days will be spent pulling fence, and the others will be rafting and exploring the area.
Enjoy a guided float down a section of the Wild and Scenic John Day River, a day of pulling fence, a day of exploring and hiking, 4 days of great food and sleeping under the stars. This fun and unique trip is a wonderful way to experience part of the John Day River.
Meet at Clarno Bridge and take a shuttle to our put in. We will camp in a designated area along the river and take out at Clarno Bridge.
PROJECT DETAILS: There is a short section of fence left on this old ranch that is now part of the Pine Creek Conservation Area, managed by the Warm Springs Tribes. Removing obsolete barbed wire fence opens the landscape for safe wildlife migration.
COST: $175 for members, $250 for
non-members. Price includes all meals,
shuttle service, rafting gear (life jacket, dry bags, etc) and tip for the guide.
Trip fee and registration papers are due by April 9.
