Gray Wolf Delisting
Action challenging U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service decision to remove the gray wolf from the Endangered Species list.
May 9, '08 - ONDA and Hells Canyon Preservation Council file a 60-day notice of intent to sue the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service over agency's decision to remove the gray wolf from the Endangered Species list. Action will support Defenders of Wildlife and other conservation organizations' newly-filed legal action challenging the delisting decision. Action builds on ONDA's previous commitment to ensuring the survival and recovery of wolves in Oregon, including by submitting a petition to Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife in 2002 asking ODFW to prepare a legally-required management plan for wolves.
Apr. 7, '06 - ONDA submits comments on proposed wolf DPS rule.
June 10, '02 - ONDA petitions Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife to prepare a wolf management plan as required by Oregon's Endangered Species Act. See the Oregon Wolf Plan, which resulted from ONDA's and others' efforts.
